How can you help NJB?

Providing education about HIV/AIDS to those living with the virus and their families, volunteers, and the general public is a high priority at NJB.  We provide numerous services and try to provide a welcome atmosphere for clients, staff and friends.  How can you help?

Volunteer - NJB is always in need of volunteers and would love you to share your particular talent with us.  The Center is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Your time, no matter how much or how little, is appreciated and needed.

Following is a list of current volunteer opportunities at NJB:

AIDS Walk 2010

Description of duties:  Volunteers needed to help organize, promote, fundraise and walk in our 12th annual AIDS Walk at a date to be determined in 2010.  Contact us for more information!

Who can volunteer for this: Both sexes Adults, Seniors, Students, Teens

Languages:  English (Spanish a plus, but not required)

Food Bank Assistants

Description of duties: Help maintain and upkeep the Food Bank, including the stocking and sorting of food items, and filling orders.

Food Bank hours: Monday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Tuesday - Thursday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.  Opportunities open for all shifts. Additional hours will become available based on the number of volunteers.

Food Bank Donations / Food Drives

The Buddies' Food Bank is a vital source in the community helping to meet nutritional and hygiene needs.  We welcome non-perishable food donations, personal hygiene and cleaning products, and culturally-sensitive food items to meet our growing Hispanic clientele.  We welcome School, Civic, and Church food drives.  If you'd like a complete list of items you can donate, please call us at (201) 489-2900.

 

Research Projects

Description of duties: Help with projects such as creating databases, and assisting in the creation of an AIDS Guide Book to be used as a resource for Buddies' Clients.
