Management - Promotes health, development, and independence of
clients while optimizing the distribution and utilization of limited
fiscal and professional resources.
Transportation
- Assists clients in reaching medical appointments, hospitals, support
groups, day-respite centers, and other AIDS-related activities.
Peer Support Groups
- Provides a means for persons with HIV/AIDS, their families and loved
ones to share their experience and feelings and provide emotional support,
assistance and reassurance. Dedicated and professionally trained
facilitators meet on a regular basis to conduct support sessions.

Food Bank
- Located at the Franklin A. Smith Resource Center, the food bank is
available to all NJB clients. The Food Bank provides non-perishable
canned or dry goods to insure clients receive adequate supplementation.
Substance Abuse
Counseling - Not problem people but people with problems.
Counseling services and programming for people
with HIV/AIDS who have substance abuse issues and may be in early
recovery, are drug-free, or are methadone-compliant.
Translation
- Provides Spanish translation services in order to assist
Spanish-speaking clients in navigating the systems of health care and
social services.
Housing -
The Robert A. Harrison House, on the grounds of Bergen Regional Medical
Center, provides an assisted living facility for six full-time residents
who are HIV-positive.
