NJB offers "The Reality of Hope" with the HIV/AIDS New Focus Substance Abuse Program, under the guidance of Program Coordinators Lori Pellino, CDA, and Susan Stoveken, CADC.  For more information or to schedule a screening, call (201) 489-2900.  Transportation is available.
Accepting Referrals from:
  • Ryan White providers
  • Detox facilities
  • Rehab programs
  • Methadone programs
 Eligibility Criteria:
  • HIV Positive
  • Substance abuse
  • In early recovery
  • Drug-free or methadone-compliant
Format:
  • Outpatient modality
  • 12-step model
  • 6 focused components
 Course of Treatment:
  • 16-weeks to 6 month program
  • 3 groups per week
  • 2 hour sessions
Treatment focus:
  • Addiction/recovery
  • Goals
  • Knowledge of disease concept
  • Enhance life skills
  • Identify relapse triggers
  • Integrate to continued support system
  • Abstinence
 *Group and individual sessions with certified substance abuse counselors available.
